    JOEY "PAPA J" SOMMERVILLE

A spotlight soloist on the Grammy-nominated and Juno Award-winning album “Alegria” by Cirque du Soleil, Sommerville’s 2007 release “Like You Mean It” won the American Society of Young Musician’s All That Jazz Award in 2009. His trumpet artistry was featured on Hidden Beach Recordings’ “Unwrapped Volume 4” and he’s written and produced a Top 20 single for Bob Baldwin and produced two albums by Rhonda Smith that feature performances from Prince, Sheila E. and gospel icon Fred Hammond.  Sommerville's critically acclaimed 2014 album "Overnight Sensation" has received rave reviews from critics and fans worldwide including a ringing recommendation from Elyssa Gardner of USA Today. 2015 has proven to be an exciting year for the Chicago native and Keyboardist. “When Marie Smiles” the 1st single from Tim’s latest album “Up & At’em” was released to radio August 1st of 2015.  The single was the #1 most added tune on the Billboards and went on to gain a respectable #19 slot nationwide. Tim also enjoyed wide spread rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio with multiple weeks showing #1 spins according to Nelson Sound-Scan.  “When Marie Smiles” features Smooth Jazz Saxophonist Jeanette Harris and is an upbeat rhythmic tune embodying festive fun and lively energy.

Up & At’em packs a heavy hitting line up including performances by Grammy award winning producer Keyboardist Phil Davis on “Evolution,” and Saxophonist Pamela Williams on the sensuous ballad “Reminiscing.” Phil Denny blows Sax on the upbeat title track “Up & At’em.” Kim Scott’s vocals and flute, along with Percussionist PJ Spraggins, and Bassist Tim Raynor III all convey the heart of its message on the deep and thought provoking tune “Ancestors.” Ragan Whiteside lends a funky flute presence on “Making Moves.” Dwayne Kerr on flute and Bassist Hubert Eaves IV bring the groove to another level on the hand clapping, finger snapping tune “The Good Life.”

    BIO

Take one of the hottest composers and keyboard players in instrumental pop, add in featured performances from the likes of Gerald Albright, Paul Taylor and Nils Landgren, hook them up with ten wonderful new tunes and what do you have?  The answer is ‘Fritzenized’, the latest album from the Billboard chart-topping, artist Jonathan Fritzén.

It is the Swedish American’s fifth solo CD and follows the critically acclaimed ‘Magical’ from which the title cut blasted a path to #1 on every smooth jazz airplay chart on the planet.

The fact that even before it’s release date, ‘Fritzenized’ has already become a chart topper says much for a collection that, two years in the making, is Fritzén’s most personal to date.  Writing, producing and (for the first time) mixing every track, he comes closer to his true musical vision than with any other project he has created so far.
